Periods or menstruation is a vital part of female reproductive health and this article by ban Barkawi discusses the situations of poor Lebanese women who have to face harrowing experiences during their periods. As the prices of sanitary pads are extremely high in Lebanon, Lebanese women are forced to use rags or reuse pads. These practices may lead to serious health issues later or can be even fatal. The Lebanese government is being criticized for not providing basic sanitary needs of women. Men’s grooming products like razors are being sold in lower prices while pads are extremely expensive, this shows the discriminative behavior towards women’s health and the ignorant behavior of the government.
